State Representative Travaris McCurdy is a proud product of the Orange County Public School System, having attended Orange Center Elementary, Robinswood Middle, West Orange High, and graduating as a member of Olympia High School’s inaugural class in 2002. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and has built a career rooted in public service and community advocacy.
Travaris previously served as Chief Legislative Aide to two Florida State Senators, Geraldine Thompson and Randolph Bracy III, providing critical policy and legislative support. Nationally, he worked as Deputy Political Director for the Super PAC *For Our Future*, advancing progressive causes across the country.
Deeply committed to his community, Travaris has served as a board member for the OCPS ACE School Board and the West Lakes Partnership. He remains an active member of the NAACP and the Orange County Democratic Black Caucus. As the founder of the Mobile Library initiative, he has expanded access to free books for children throughout Orange County.
Travaris is happily married and together he and his wife share a passion for their children, their community, and their faith. He is also an active member of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church and the Orlando Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., and remains deeply committed to building a stronger, more inclusive future for all.
